Mountain West Grand Prix

When:
Goblin (grades 4 - 6) challenge - April 21, 2020
F24 (grades 6 & up) challenge - April 22, 2020

Where:
Utah Motorsports Campus, Erda, UT (between Tooele and Grantsville)

Join us for a day at the races, and see the variety of innovative electric cars built by local students. This year, the schedule has been expanded to two-days with the Goblin division, grades 4-6, on Tuesday, April 21, and the F24s, grades 6 and up, on Wednesday, April 22. Students participating in either division follow the rules and regulation of GreenpowerUSA, a project-based learning environment emphasizing the use of applied science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) skills. The exciting event consists of two racing heats, with the winning team having covered the greatest distance in that time.

USU STARS! GEAR UP and the Utah Governor’s Office of Energy Development (OED), sponsor the event, along with support from USU’s College of Engineering — Sustainable Electrified Transportation Center (SELECT), and GreenpowerUSA.

Video produced by USU STARS! GEAR UP features highlights from the 2019 challenge.
