Race Day 2020
Video produced by USU STARS! GEAR UP features highlights from the 2019 challenge.
Utah Greenpower Electric Car Challenge
When: Thursday, April 23, 2020
Where: Utah Motorsports Campus, Erda, UT (between Tooele and Grantsville)
Join us for a day at the races, and see all the exciting designs that students have dreamed up for their single-seat electric cars. The race starts with 45-minute qualifying heats to determine which teams advance to the final round. Teams are scored on the number of continuous laps made, with extra points awarded for cars competing in the fastest lap and a video presentation. Greenpower electric car challenges take place all over the country, and the world, promoting engineering and technology skills in students ages of 9 to 25.
The Utah Greenpower Electric Car Challenge is co-organized by USU STARS! GEAR UP and the Utah Governor’s Office of Energy Development (OED), with support from USU’s College of Engineering — Sustainable Electrified Transportation Center, and GreenpowerUSA.
